GLADEWATER, Texas — The Pleasant Grove Hawks out-gained the Gladewater Bears 453 yards to 203 as they shutout the home side 45-0 Friday night at Jack V. Murphy Stadium.
Pleasant Grove quarterback Ben Harmon completed 5-of-8 for 114 yards and a touchdown. Harmon also rushed 11 times for 76 yards.
Bruce Garrett led the way for the Hawks with 143 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.
Marcus Burris had Pleasant Grove’s lone receiving touchdown of 66 yards. Sergio Rodriguez caught a team-high three passes for 21 yards and also produced an interception return for a touchdown.
Gladewater quarterback D.J. Allen completed 10-of-21 for 142 yards and an interception. Elijah Carter was the Bears’ leading rusher with 12 carries for 38 yards. Cam Zonovion caught a game-high seven passes for 104 yards.
The Hawks move to 4-0 on the season while the Bears drop to 2-2 on the season. Pleasant Grove takes on the Chapel Hill Bulldogs on the road next Friday. Gladewater commences district play at home against Winnsboro next Friday.
