SULPHUR SPRINGS — The Pleasant Grove boy's soccer lost 5-0 in an away match Tuesday that Hawks Coach Kevin Reaves described as their "best game yet."
According to Reaves, Sulphur Springs had at least 25 shots on goal and only ended up with 5 goals. Reaves had high praise for his defense, saying they "played incredibly well throughout the game."
He singled out the efforts of his goalkeeper, Gage Stivers. He also lavished praise on his defensive back four of Seth Sharp, Peyton LeGrand, Jai Weinheimer, and Jackson Campbell.
"Brandon Awuah demonstrated great hustle and fight on offense," he added.
JV wins
The Pleasant Grove JV team came away from their match against Sulphur Springs with a 1-0 shutout. The lone goal in the match was scored by Carter Prewitt with an assist from William Otero. This is Prewitt's second goal in as many matches.
