PG loses to highly ranked Paris

TEXARKANA, Texas — Pleasant Grove varsity boys soccer fell to No. 2 ranked Paris in their District home opener Tuesday night at Hawks Stadium. The Lions scored four goals on the Hawks in winning the match.

Hawk Coach Kevin Reaves praised the defensive unit for remaining strong against the talented Paris team. He said the Hawks had "several offensive opportunities, but failed to capitalize."

(The Hawks continue district play with a road game at 7 p.m. tonight against New Diana.)

 

JV takes it on chin, too

The Pleasant Grove JV soccer team played hard but came up short at home against Paris, losing 4-1. The Hawks lone goal was scored by Carter Prewitt, his third straight match with a goal.

(The Hawk JV team travels to New Diana for a 5:30 p.m. match tonight.)
