MARSHALL, Texas – Presley Humphrey drove home four of Pleasant Grove’s five runs Thursday at Marshall High School to lead the Lady Hawks past Gilmer in the 4A softball playoffs, 5-2.

Humphrey hits solo roundtripper

Pleasant Grove (16-7-1) lost to Gilmer twice during the regular season, but Humphrey and Lexi Snyder changed those results. Humphrey cleared a bases-loaded situation with a double to put the Hawks on top for good, 4-1. She also hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Snyder pitched all seven innings, scattering nine hits. She struck out six.

The Hawks had seven hits in the game. Snyder and Mackenzie Williams also had two hits each.
