The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks were victorious in a hard-fought battle in the Lobo Coliseum in Longview, Texas Thursday night against the Van Lady Vandals. The Lady Hawks senior star guard Shanequa Henry scored 21 points, including 14 free throws and Pleasant Grove won the area 4A Region II championship 58-47.

Henry’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. The Lady Vandals were forced to foul in a game that was close near the end. However, they kept fowling Henry who was cooler than the other side of the pillow hitting 14 of 16 from the charity stripe.

Davis, Lloyd and Block all had huge games for the Lady Hawks

Lady Hawks senior Keshawn Davis scored 10 points, while Asia Lloyd poured in 8 and sophomore sensation Briena Block pitched in with seven.

The Van Lady Vandals were led by Gracie Brewer whop scored 16 points and Skylar Savage who chipped in with 14 points.

The Lady Hawks advanced to the Regional quarterfinals with the victory where they will host the winner of Canton and Bullard.
