HALLSVILLE, Texas—Pleasant Grove had some strong finishes as the Hawks' tennis team opened the spring season against 18 schools Friday in the Hallsville Tournament.

Pleasant Grove had one first place in mixed A doubles where the team of Shannon Lee and Grant Mitchell took home the gold.

The Hawks' George Douglas and Bradley Owens placed second in boys A doubles while the team of Palmer Duke and Carl Mead took home fourth place in boys B doubles.

PG's Caroline Joyce and Gracie Higgins also finished fourth in girls A doubles.

Amy Lam placed third in girls B singles and Izzy Aguirre reached the quarterfinals.

In boys A singles, Clark Giles was fourth and Ross Wyles reached the quarterfinals in boys B singles.
