VAN, Texas—Pleasant Grove competing in its final tuneup before district by participating in the Van Tournament against a strong field.

Teams competing included the Hawks, Anna, Argyle, Athens, Bullard, Center, Kilgore, Edgewood, Grace, Canton, White Oak, Brook Hill, John Tyler, Palestine, Melissa, Quitman and host Van.

Pleasant Grove's mixed doubles team of Caroline Joyce and Grant Mitchell took home the gold, defeating a Palestine team in the finals.

The Hawk duo of Ross Wyles and Bradley Owens beat a Brook Hill squad to win the consolation of boys A doubles. PG's Amy Lam and Carter Brooks placed fourth in girls B doubles.

The Hawks will be the host school in the district tournament April 4-5 at Texarkana College.
