The Paris Wildcats tied the Pleasant Grove Hawks in first place after an 82-55 boys varsity basketball win at Wildcat’s Gym in Paris Tuesday.
Pleasant Grove (14-7, 8-1) and Paris (14-5, 8-1) both have 8-1 district records going into Friday nights last district games in boys varsity basketball. the Hawks will play at Pittsburg and the Wildcats will be at Gilmer. PG and Paris will both be favored in their final district games. If both teams win , they will play a tie breaker game at a time and location to be announced.
The Wildcats were led by Junior Garrius Savage who poured in 20 points. Jaelyn Lee pitched in with 16 while Jermarius Morgan and Bubba Gray each scored ten.
Pleasant Grove’s leading scorer was senior T’vondrick Henry who scored 16 points. senior Torey Phillips scored 11 points, Torey’s freshman brother Torion Phillips pitched in with 8 and senior Tre Stuart scored seven.
“We were outplayed by Paris tonight,” Dwight McCowan, Hawks head coach said. ” Hats off to those guys they deserved the win tonight. We will play better next time out.”
