Pleasant Grove Football Team Gets Huge Community Send Off

Pleasant Grove football team gets a huge community send off. The Pleasant Grove and Texarkana community gave a big send off for the Hawks football team at the high school today.

Community members, along with Pleasant Grove staff packed the back parking lot at the school and cheered on the team. Hawk Cheerleaders, Showstoppers, and the Pride in Motion band was also part of the festivities.

Pleasant Grove Superintendent Dr. Jason Smith and Athletic Director Josh Gibson made some brief remarks before the kids head out.

 

Hawk supporters lined the parking lot, many with signs supporting the football team.

The team was escorted by Texas DPS. The Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Grover, the Pleasant Grove mascot, wound up the convoy.

Pleasant Grove will play for their second straight Class 4A Division II Texas State Championship on Friday. The game versus the Cuero Gobblers kicks off at 11am.

The championship game will be broadcast on ESPN Texarkana Radio at 94.1 fm. It can also be heard online at espntexarkana.com

The day begins with a special 3 hour pregame show starting at 8am Friday on 94.1 fm.
