ROYCE CITY, Texas — If Pleasant Grove is to keep the postseason alive, it will have to do something that no team has done.

The Hawks (9-3) face Caddo Mills (11-0) in a Class 4A, Div. II regional quarterfinal football playoff game at Royce City ISD Stadium today at 2 p.m.

Pleasant Grove will have to hand the Foxes their first loss of the season if it is to advance to the regional semifinals next week.

"Caddo Mills has a really good football team, and they are ranked sixth in state in one of the polls," Hawks head coach Josh Gibson said. "They run a spread attack offense, and they have a dynamic quarterback who can run and throw. He is extremely dangerous with his feet. He pulls the ball down and likes to run a lot.

"We will have to play within our scheme and not beat ourselves. We can't turn over the ball, have a lot of penalties or have busted assignments in the secondary. The team that comes out the cleanest in those areas is the team that will come out ahead."

Pleasant Grove is averaging 38.5 points per game and is holding opponents to just 15.8 points. The Foxes have given up an average of 19.0 points per game and score 48.9 points on average.

Logan Johnson is the Hawks leading rusher with 1,096 yards on 108 carries and 12 touchdowns, while teammate Nick Martin is second on the team with 697 yards on 98 totes and 14 scores. Freshman Jaylen Boardley has totaled 681 yards on 84 touches and six TDs.
