Pleasant Grove nipped Atlanta 4-3 in opening night game at Hawk Field

The Pleasant Grove Hawks nipped the Atlanta Rabbits 4-3 at Hawk Field in Texarkana in the opening night baseball game for both teams.

 

Atlanta led PG 3-0 after scoring 3 in the top of the first. the Hawks tied the game at 3-3 with 3 runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Hawks took the lead in the bottom of the fifth

The Hawks broke the tie with a run in the bottom of the 5th inning.

The winning pitcher for Pleasant Grove was Tucker Anderson. Anderson (1-0) pitched 6 and 2/3’s innings striking out 8. Anderson gave up 4 hits and 3 unearned runs. Hawks closer Alex Galvan earned the save.

Atlanta’s starting pitcher Max Ebarb pitched well but was he was pulled after 4 innings with the game tied at three. Rabbits reliever Randall Mason was the losing pitcher for Atlanta.

 

The Hawks leaders at the plate were Braden Hlavinka who was 2-for-3, Marshall Cox was 1-for-3 with a double, Anderson was 1-for 3 with and RBI, Adnrew Legrande and Alex Murphy were each 1-for-3 with an RBI and Hayden Kollier had an RBI sacrifice fly. Hawks catcher Josh Brown was 1-for-3.

 

Atlanta was led at the plate by Ebarb was 1-for-2 with a double. Rabbit DH Kolby Mason was 1-for-3and Kade Wood was 1-for-two.
