Pleasant Grove paraded 13 batters to the plate in the first inning of its’ District 15-4A opener against Pittsburg.
The Hawks (8-3, 1-0) banged out five doubles and a triple in the first inning and scored eight runs. The final result Tuesday at Hawk Field was a 12-2 victory in five innings.
Exceed Urgent Care Player of the Game Tucker Anderson hit a two-run double to end the contest via the 10-run rule. Anderson was also the winning pitcher. He went four innings, allowing one hit and striking in five. Landon Jackson and Brayden Solida pitched the final frame.
The Hawks played errorless ball in the field, while hammering 12 hits.
Anderson drove in three runs with two doubles. Andrew LeGrand duplicated that performance. Braden Hlavinka drove in two runs with a double and single. Hayden Koller added a two-run double, and also had a single.
Pittsburg’s only hit of the game came in the first inning. Southpaw Jaxson Ramsey started on the mound for the Pirates, and suffered the loss.
Pleasant Grove’s next action will be at Bossier Parkway on Thursday. The Hawks play the host team at 4 p.m., and Nashville (Ark.) at 7 p.m.
