Hawks pound Pittsburg in 5 innings

PITTSBURG, Texas – Ben Harmon hit a solo home run to start Pleasant Grove’s first inning. The Hawks never let up, pounding Pittsburg in their District 15-4A opener in five innings, 14-3.
 

Nick Voyles pitched a complete game for the win, allowing three hits and striking out four.
 

Tucker Anderson led the Hawks with a double and single, driving in four runs. Jackson Cobb had two hits, and drove in a run. Dylan Hopkins drove in two runs with a double, and Parker Twisdale plated two more with a single. Keaton Russo, Ryan Galvan and Andrew LeGrand had one hit each.
 

Pleasant Grove improves to 7-3 overall. The Hawks play Arkansas High Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Dugan Ward Memorial Tournament at Ashdown.
